Tomato and Mozzarella Salad

Tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil make a quick salad. When tomatoes are in season, mix it up and use different size and color tomatoes to make the presentation really special.
Ingredients
- 1 medium (8 ounce) tomato, cut into 8 slices
- 6 ounces fresh mozzarella, cut into 8 slices
- 8 fresh basil leaves
- ⅛ to ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
Cooking Instructions
- Plate the tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil in a decorative way. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Substitution(s)
- Instead of fresh basil, drizzle a prepared pesto sauce

- Tomatoes lose their flavor and texture if they are stored in the refrigerator
