Stock Up for Healthy Breakfasts
Most of us are rushed in the mornings so to make things simpler I try to keep healthful breakfast items on-hand at all times. Here's how I do it:
Muffin Magic. On weekends, I make a batch of carrot, banana or pumpkin muffins and freeze them. They work as a great last-minute breakfast option during the week, as do whole-grain waffles, pancakes and bread. Or, try these breakfast ideas.
Healthy Options. If baking muffins isn't an option, keep your cupboards stocked with these foods:
- Low-sugar, high fiber cold cereals
- Hot cereals like quick-cook oatmeal and Cream of Wheat
- Milk
- Juice
- Yogurt or cream cheese
- Fresh of fruit
