Kellogg's® Rice Krispies Treats® Flowers

Make an edible flower with this recipe from Kellogg’s™ Rice Krispies™. All you need to create it are a few around-the-house ingredients and a flower-shaped cookie cutter.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 package (10 oz., about 40) regular marshmallows or
  • 4 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 6 cups Kellogg's® Rice Krispies® cereal
  • Prepared frosting

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a large microwave-safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows at HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
  2. Add KELLOGG'S™ RICE KRISPIES™ cereal. Stir until well coated.
  3. Using spatula sprayed with cooking spray or waxed paper, press mixture into 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Allow mixture to cool slightly.
  4. Using flower-shaped cookie cutter, cut cereal mixture into flower shapes. Decorate with frosting as desired. Best if served the same day.
  5. Microwave cooking times may vary.

CONVENTIONAL DIRECTIONS:

  1. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat. Follow steps 2 through 4 above.

Tips:

  • For best results, use fresh marshmallows.
  • 1 jar (7 oz.) marshmallow creme can be substituted for marshmallows.
  • Diet, reduced calorie or tub margarine is not recommended.
