Everything is better with bacon and this green bean dish is no exception. After the bacon is cooked, the onions are sauted in the bacon drippings and the green beans are then tossed with the onions and bacon.

Ingredients

  • ½ pound bacon
  • 2 pounds green beans
  • 2 medium onions, coarsely chopped
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper

Cooking Instructions

  1.  Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lay bacon slices flat on jelly roll pan. Cook, turning once, 20 minutes, or until crisp. Remove bacon to paper towels to drain; cool and coarsely chop. Reserve 2 tablespoons bacon drippings.
  2. Cook green beans in boiling, salted water about 7 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and reserve.
  3. In large skillet over medium high heat, melt bacon drippings. Add onions and cook, stirring occasionally, 5-7 minutes, or until lightly browned.
  4. In large bowl toss bacon, green beans, onions, salt and pepper to mix.
