Coney Island Hot Dog Sauce

You'll relish this spicy sauce that gets its kick from ground beef, chili powder, onion and garlic. It makes the perfect partner for grilled sausage on a bun, hotdogs and hamburgers.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon monosodium glutamate (MSG)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. In a medium skillet over medium high heat, saute the ground beef for 10 to 15 minutes, or until well browned. Break up with a fork until fine.
  2. Add the water, onion, garlic, tomato sauce, chili powder, monosodium glutamate and salt to the beef. Simmer for 10 minutes, or until heated through.
