More Valentine's Day Recipes

These delicately crisp cutout cookies are welcome desserts anytime of year. They make lovely treats for Valentine's Day or Christmas gift giving that can be cut in desired shapes to suit the occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter and cream cheese until thorouhgly combined. Gradually add sugar, beating well after each addition. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until blended.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the flour and baking powder. Add the flour mix gradually to butter/cream cheese mix, beating until just combined. Chill dough 1 to 2 hours.
  4. Roll out on floured board and cut in desired shapes. Bake approximately 12 minutes or until light brown at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Frost with desired frosting.
